Vaya Con Dios Viva Rachel Maddow

Well Kids, it's been a hoot.

From the day we first heard her on AirAmerica to the day she interviewed the President; Ms. Rachel Maddow's ascension within the political pop-culture firmament has certainly been worth the price of admission.

With that said...we're done.

Our parent company, Cerebral Itch has reorganized their creative resources leaving little time to do this site up right. But, there are other sites out there that do an outstanding job at keeping tabs on our favorite Rhodes Scholar/mixologist. And we'll name them: The Queen of them all, MaddowFans.com and the witty upstart Fuck Yeah Rachel Maddow. Please give your attention and affection to these sites. They're run by fantastic souls who want nothing more than to bring you the best news on one of the coolest/smartest people on-air.

As for us, the site will stay live and the e-cards will be available ad infinitum. We may even add to the e-cards. If we do, we hope the sites mentioned above will let you know.

But for us, we'll never forget the day she hugged us, nor all the other reasons we created this site. Ms. Maddow, if you're reading this: It has been a pleasure having you be both our muse and warrior.

xoxoxo

Well sh!#! All we had to do was write a lame song and we would've gotten on TV?!

Shuster gets serenaded (at 2:15) and gives some guy five free minutes of airtime. We run two fansites for a year and get...okay, okay...fine.

Now it's the fans' turn to ask Rachel questions

So here's the deal: MSNBC and Rachel have graciously paved the way for Viva Rachel Maddow and MaddowFans.com to interview Rachel herself.

We approached the powers that be with the concept that all the interviews we've seen cover the same material that any Rachel fan would know in a drunken stupor; She's gay, she has no TV, she's remarkably humble, blah, blah, blah...yawn. Now it's our chance! We're reaching out to you and asking for truly insightful and fun questions that can be put to Rachel so we can all finally get an interview that speaks directly to the Rachel fan.

So start thinking and start sending us those questions by clicking the mail link here. Like we said, be insightful, be respectful and be funny (just like Rachel).

Question asking time has closed - stay tuned for the interview

Rachel teaches Martha Stewart how to make a Cherry Julep

Rachel gets schooled by Martha Stewart on how to make carrot soup here and here, but we lushes at the Viva Rachel Maddow offices thought you all would find her making booze love with Martha much more enjoyable. With that said, who the hell knew Martha was such a wonk?

Best ironic throw away Martha Stewart line EVER: "Well, I hate wiretaps, I hate the idea of them, I hate all that stuff." (part 1 at 2:20)

"I Love You, Rachel Maddow" The Spotlight Cabaret - State of the Union

Holy God - someone get that boy a Tony and tell Michael Feinstein he's out of a job. A wonderfully fun tribute in song to our girl by Gregory Jacobs-Roseman.

"Don't hate me or Proposition 8 me..."

Genius

hat tip to Maddow Fans

Lesley Stahl gives Rachel the 60 Minutes treatment

The article is here - from WOWOWOW-Women on the Web. Some of the same great responses we've seen from Rachel in the past and a few cool nuggets on the MSNBC crew.

LUCKY NUMBER 7
Forbes.com names Rachel one of the 25 Most Influential Liberals

Rachel was recently mentioned in Forbes.com (a magazine which we believe is still read by 14 rich white guys on the East Coast only due to subscriptions they purchased through their kid's prep school fundraiser) as one of the The 25 Most Influential Liberals In The U.S. Media. She joins an illustrious list of intellectuals and entertainers who I think any one of us would be honored to have at a dinner table (Hitchens, Dowd, Zakaria, Sullivan, et al).

Oh, and Forbes; don't think we missed that little "cultish" shot. If along with being hot for Rachel, one is politically engaged, literate, tolerant and possessing a sense of humor that got us through the last eight years makes us "cultish", then throw me a tambourine and hemp kaftan.

Here's a charming little article on Rachel by fellow UK Maddite Kaite - enjoy.

Um, kinda sucked

SNL takes a stab at a Rachel Maddow impersonation. We here at the Viva Rachel Maddow offices found the bit lacking. But then again, we find the Fred Armisen - Obama impersonation weak-ass compared to this guy

Your thoughts?

Two of the greatest political minds share the same stage

Brilliant. Plus, a running Munsters metaphor? Beyond brilliant.
